Safer Internet Day 2019
Today we’re celebrating Safer Internet Day! A day where organisations around the world promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for young people. In line with this year’s theme, ‘Together for a better internet’, we’re joining the conversation and working to make sure children get the most out of the internet in a safe and secure way. Technology for good All over the world, children are increasingly using the internet – through their own devices, at even younger ages. The media are quick to jump in and talk about the negative impacts for young people. But when
In the Spotlight with Gordon Scobbie, Regional Business Growth and Partnerships Executive
We’re very pleased to welcome Gordon Scobbie to the team, as Regional Business Growth and Partnerships Executive for Scotland. Yoti ‘Selfie Days’: how can we help?
Here at Yoti we’re committed to social change. Whether that be gifting the use of our identity platform to registered non-profits, or lending out our office space to charities for meetings and public events, or assisting humanitarian organisations with identity needs in the developing world. It requires its partners to show value for human life, dignity and rights, address harmful bias, facilitate transparency and embed it into their
Yoti UK charity research reveals a sector not yet ready for digital identity solutions
Earlier this summer we commissioned research to better understand digital identity needs in the developing world. That research focused specifically on humanitarian work in Africa and South East Asia, and a summary of those findings can be found here. We’re also keen to support the social sector in markets closer to home. However, despite our efforts, uptake in the UK in particular has been slow. As part of a wider review of our social impact strategy, we felt additional research was needed to help us better understand the issues and challenges facing UK non-profits when it comes to making sense
Shaping the future of travel with Heathrow Airport
We have more big news to share with you this week. We’re excited to announce that we are involved in trials with Heathrow, to explore biometric travel for passengers. With annual passenger volumes rising, airlines and airports are looking to technology to transform airports as we know them, reducing queue times, increasing security standards and importantly, delivering an enhanced customer experience that puts them in control. What we’re doing An initial proof of concept allowed participating Heathrow staff to use the Yoti app to share their verified passport information and facial biometric to check-in to their flight. The process
