Yoti is joining over 700 organisations saying #iwill for young people in National Volunteer’s Week

As part of National Volunteer’s Week, we’re celebrating our pledge to the #iwill campaign to increase opportunities for young people to make a difference in their communities through campaigning, fundraising or volunteering. We’ve pledged #iwill to support this growing movement to make youth social action a part of life for more 10-20 year-olds around the UK.

Yoti has pledged to:
1. Gift the use of our ground-breaking identity checking platform to the amazing #iwill charity partners.
2. Run free-of-charge events and hackathons on how best to connect to, and exploit the multiple use cases of the platform.
3. Encourage the Yoti team to use our annual self-development days to volunteer for #iwill partners.

Working with business, education and voluntary sector partners, the #iwill campaign aims to ensure that all young people can access social action opportunities – defined as ‘young people taking practical action in the service of others to create positive change’ – whatever their background. The recent Youth Social Action survey found current levels of participation by 10-20 year-olds stands at around 40%, the #iwill goal is to raise this to 60% by 2020, which will mean an additional 1.5 million young people are active in their communities.

At Yoti, we’re committed to using our identity checking platform as a force for good. That’s why we’re a B Corporation with a set of principles to guide us and a Guardian Council of respected and influential individuals to hold us to account. We’re keen to do everything we can to support the social and environmental sector, and are pleased to support the #iwill campaign as part of this ambition.

Charlotte Hill, CEO of Step Up To Serve, the charity which coordinates the #iwill campaign says: “We are delighted that Yoti has pledged to support our work, and today is sharing their progress to inspire others to take part also. If we are to make involvement in social action the norm for 10-20 year-olds we need partners to commit to tangible actions just as they are doing. The involvement of Yoti will undoubtedly help us progress towards our challenging goal.”
