At Yoti, our community is very important to us. We believe that, with your help, we can build the world’s most trusted identity platform to give you a safer, simpler way of proving who you are.
That’s why we welcomed the public to Yoti HQ for our first community open evening on Wednesday 31 July. A number of people from the Yoti community, B Corps community and beyond came to mingle over drinks and snacks, and discover what we get up to in the world of digital identity.
Here are some of the highlights.
Kimberley Sheridan, one of our Product Delivery Managers, let us in on the product development process at Yoti.
To develop products for a global audience, we need to have the right processes and people in place. As our Yoti family has grown over the years, our product managers make sure we take a more structured approach to development.
We always put our users first when we build our products. We consider usability goals, user characteristics, environment, and workflow of a product or service at every stage of the design process.
Amy Rogers, one of our UX Designers, took the stage to explore the challenges with the current methods of proving your age.
We showcased our two age verification solutions, Yoti Age Check and Yoti Age Scan. We also discussed the downfalls of existing age verification solutions and the trials we’ve faced building our age estimation technology, Yoti Age Scan.
After the talk, we got some of you guys to put your powers of judgment to the test in our age estimation game – Man vs Machine. We had some Yoti merchandise up for grabs for anyone who could beat the machine in guessing people’s ages correctly but we’re happy to say, the machine won against everyone.
We then opened the floor up to a Q&A session and had some interesting, lively debate on topics such as how Yoti defines identity and if biometrics will always be the most secure way of identifying humans. We think you’ll agree that the world of digital identity is fascinating and complex, and we don’t claim to have all the answers. So hearing your opinions, questions and curiosities is what it’s all about for us. Big thanks to everyone who participated.
We’ll be opening the doors to Yoti HQ once a month. If you’re interested in helping us build the world’s most trusted identity platform, or you just want to chat with the team over a cold brew, head over to our Eventbrite page and save your spot for our next event. You can even follow our profile, so we can notify you of our upcoming events.
Until next time…
